THE GRADDIES

THE CHALLENGE: Only 3% of film school students progressing into paid work in the industry.

The Graddies is an annual award started in 2021 where Universities, Film Schools and Colleges can enter their students final year graduation films. Judged by industry titans, the winner of the Best Film wins an award and a screening of their work in a Vue cinema and receives a mentorship from Distant Voices.

 

All nominees will be given the opportunity to develop ideas with us for C4 and BBC’s First Time Director strands. Some of the previous finalists have gone on to work with Distant Voices and have worked with the likes of the BBC, Netflix and Channel 4.

The Graddies aims to bridge the gap between university education and gainful employment within the industry.
