Celia Taylor

Celia Taylor started in the independent sector working in comedies, prime time formats and documentaries for C4 and BBC.

 

She then joined BBC as a Commissioning Editor in Factual working across BBC1 and 2 winning a BAFTA for Innovation for Doubletake. As part of the launch team for BBC3, she delivered ratings and critical success for the channel with shows like Diners, Celebdaq, Towerblock Dreams, and Madame Kitty’s Whorehouse.

 

Keen to branch out, she joined Virgin as Director of Programmes managing all aspects of 3 Digital channels - Bravo, Trouble and Challenge. Winning an RTS for Innovation for the first comedy UGC show, she also launched the first Virgin TV channel Virgin 1.

 

As Head of Un-scripted at Sky, she delivered their highest rating show in 20 years with An Idiot Abroad alongside other award winning formats like 50 Ways to Kill Your Mammy and Pineapple Dance Studios. She also commissioned 6 Natural History films with Sir David Attenborough in 3D, and a slate of Award winning theatrical release documentaries.

 

Returning to production, she became MD of Mentorn Media securing a USA network series as well as US pilots and revitalising it’s UK output with new returnable series for BBC, C4 and C5 and an ambitious doc series for an SVOD.

 

She has 2 kids, a dog and a fish.
